The Rite of Light is a simple but powerful ceremony. It welcomes new photographers into the Circle of Light by asking them to share a piece of themselves. It is about honesty, wonder, and spirit \u2014 not technical perfection.<\/p>\n

The Three Steps of Initiation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. The First Offering \u2013 The Pledge Photo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Task:<\/em> Create one photograph that represents your journey.
It could be about:<\/p>\n

    Curiosity (beginner\u2019s eyes )<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Wonder (childlike joy \u2728)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Childhood memory (innocence )<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Light itself (hope, discovery \u2600\ufe0f)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Tone:<\/strong> \u201cYour first offering isn\u2019t about showing skill. It\u2019s about showing your heart. What image carries your story right now?\u201d<\/p>\n

    2. The Story Behind the Image \u2013 Reflection<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    \u270d\ufe0f Task:<\/em> Write a short reflection to accompany the photo.
    It can be:<\/p>\n

      A caption<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. The Circle Share \u2013 The Gift of Belonging<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Task:<\/em> Present your photo and reflection to the Circle. This is their first gift \u2014 an offering of belonging.
      Once shared, the Circle welcomes them as a full member.<\/p>\n
